OVER 70 LOERIESFONTEIN RESIDENTS RECEIVE SUPPORT |
September 2024.
Loeriesfontein resident and community leader, Daryl Ryck, has established a non-profit organisation, Elderly Development Services, through which he plans to make a significant and lasting impact. The company was founded a year ago, and recently provided meals to individuals as well as offering essential support to those in need.
“As today’s youth, we sometimes lose sight of where we come from. I registered my organisation as a non-profit because I want to support those in our community who are unable to help themselves and are struggling with difficult circumstances,” said Daryl.
The organisation’s efforts were made possible with financial support from the Loeriesfontein and Khobab Wind Farms, providing meals to over 70 individuals in the community, including the elderly, people with disabilities, and children.
“Without the funding, this project would have never taken off. That’s why I consider it a privilege to be in Loeriesfontein for as long as the wind farms are active. We are grateful to have collaborated with the wind farms to help ensure a better future for everyone. Together, we have the opportunity to make a much greater impact on our community,” Daryl added.
Despite the name suggesting a primary focus on the elderly, the organisation’s mission extends to all those in need, demonstrating a broad commitment to community welfare. This is part of the organisation’s ongoing efforts to foster unity and care within Loeriesfontein.
“Elderly Development Services is doing exceptional work in Loeriesfontein, and we are proud to support their initiatives. Their commitment to serving the most vulnerable members of the community aligns perfectly with our values, and we look forward to continuing our partnership to create positive change,” said Vanessa Fredericks, Economic Development Manager for Loeriesfontein and Khobab Wind Farms.
The event also featured various activities for children, including fun games and a jumping castle, enhancing the sense of community and support.
