We are looking for interested candidates who meet the below criteria for a 3-year Apprenticeship Programme. The programme will commence in February 2024. Candidates who meet the criteria will be expected to be based at the training centre in Kimberly for certain periods over the 3 years, this will also require on-the-job training at the wind farms for a period of 18 months in total. Travel will be covered to these sites during the programme.

You will need to meet the below requirements for the opportunity:

  •  Matriculated during or after 2019, preferably with Maths and Science or currently in the process of obtaining Matric certificate by end of 2023.

Internship – South Africa Wind Energy Association(SAWEA) 

The South Africa Wind Energy Association (SAWEA) in partnership with Loeriesfontein/Khobab Wind Farm, we’re excited to announce that Wind Industry Internship Programme (WIIP) will be running for the second time in 2023. WIIP first launched in 2022 January, where 15 interns were placed and mentored by SAWEA member organisations for a period of 12 months. This current process will however be running for the first time through the Loeriesfontein/Khobab Wind Farm and we are excited to open it up to the Loeriesfontein/Khobab community. The WIIP internship offers hands-on experience to exceptional South African students who are committed to building a career in renewable wind energy. The purpose of the WIIP is to provide young professionals who have any tertiary education, including N4, NQF level 5 – 6 in Engineering: Energy, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Civil, with the opportunity to gain practical work experience in line with their studies and interests, and to expose them to work that is related to sustainable energy. 

The students will be working alongside the Loeriesfontein/Khobab Wind Farm’s Operational Team, being exposed to various tasks and activities in and around the wind farm. The 2023 applications have been reopened to ensure maximum participation and young aspiring professionals are encouraged to apply. 

Please note: The program is sponsored and ran by SAWEA, all applications will have to go through the SEWEA website and not submitted to the Loeriesfontein/Khobab Wind Farm or the team. The Loeriesfontein/Khobab Wind Farm will only be responsible for the administering of the practical onsite experiential training and development of interns.

ED Project Officer Intern

ED Project Officer Intern – Loeriesfontein

Company Overview:

Loeriesfontein Wind Farm achieved its Commercial Operations Date on schedule and on budget, as part of the third round of the South African government’s Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme.

Loeriesfontein Wind Farm received support from the local municipality and surrounding communities during the construction phase and into operations. A number of economic development projects, aimed at contributing to sustainable community growth through financial and non-financial community development involvement. During the operations, a monetary commitment has been made to specifically developing enterprises and improving the socio-economic welfare of the community for 20 years. 

Situated in the Hantam Municipal Area, 60km north of Loeriesfontein in the Northern Cape, Loeriesfontein Wind Farm spans 3,453 hectares of agricultural land and comprises sixty-one 99m-high wind turbines.

When operating at full capacity, the 140MW Loeriesfontein Wind Farm generates around 563,500 MWh/year of clean renewable energy per year and is expected to supply electricity to power up to 120 000 South African homes.

Summary of Role: 

The Economic Development Officer Intern will provide administrative support to the Project Officer, who is the point of contact for the local community, as well as assisting the Economic Development Manager (ED Manager) when distributing key project information. This role will provide a learning environment for the Intern to develop skills in community engagement by learning from the Project Officer

What will you do:

*      Supporting the Project Officer as front-line point of contact for the Project Company in the project office during the operations phase 

*      Provide information to Public Relations team for all articles and newsletter information.

*      Organise radio interviews.

*      Assist in distribution of reports, project information and newsletters.

*      Support the ED team with implementation of projects. 

*      Provide support to the Project Officer to administer the grievance mechanism on the ground.

*      Building strong relationships with all relevant local partners/stakeholders/authorities/ communities/ businesses/ local government and local media. 

*      Maintains strong working relationships with and has open and transparent communication between all members of the team to ensure a healthy working environment is maintained.

*      Assist in organising community meetings, focussed group sessions and key informant interviews with various stakeholders.

*      Assist the Project Officer with preparing Annexure B reports on relevant SED and EnD projects

*      Engages regularly with beneficiaries / service providers to gain relevant information regarding the initiatives and to monitor their impact.

*      Take minutes at meetings and maintain socio-economic and enterprise development projects files and reports, as instructed by the ED Manager

*      Receive and document community project proposals on behalf of the Project Office, if required

*      Assist Economic Development Manager and Project Officer as needed.

SENIOR PROJECT COORDINATOR

Khobab Wind Farm is looking for a Senior Project Coordinator, who will manage the implementation of Enterprise Development (EnD) & Socio-Economic Development (SED) projects. During implementation, the Senior Project Coordinator will be responsible for managing consultants, contractors/service providers and sub-contractors and will ensure a coordinated effort is maintained throughout, whilst delivering projects on time and on budget.  This role requires the individual to have a proven track record of project and people management.  This position is based in Loeriesfontein in the Northern Cape province and may require a willingness to relocate.

Core responsibilities:

  • Understand and implement community projects under the guidance of the Economic Development (ED) Manager.
  • Manage local contractors and sub-contractors during the process. Ensure that the maximum number of local labour and contractors are utilised during project implementation.
  • Assist the ED Manager in EnD&SED activities and total community management implementation, in partnership with the implementation team and all stakeholders.
  • Assist the ED Manager to implement EnD&SED qualitatively in communities during operations to ensure Loeriesfontein 2 & Khobab Wind Farm’s social license to operate, in partnership with the operations team.
  • Apply all lessons learned throughout the project lifecycle in order to develop a world-class company community management system that makes a real, positive, measurable and sustainable impact on the communities hosting our projects.
  • Conducting periodical audits on implementation service providers
  • Manage any third-party consultants engaged to advise the wind farms on ED & SED project implementation, and ensure that advice received is integrated into related work.
  • Manage any crisis situations that arise with stakeholders during project implementation and liaise closely with the ED Manager in this regard.

 

Further responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the transition of ED initiatives into working projects
  • Relationship building and positioning with key organisations and stakeholders.
  • Identifying key local champions to become third-party advocates of projects.

 

Experience

The preferred candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 8 years relevant applicable experience in project implementation, 5 of which were working unsupervised.
  • Proven track record in multi disciplinary project management is non negotiable.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety best practice application and implementation.

 

Key Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of the renewable energy project development sector and the process to develop utility scale wind and solar projects would be an advantage;
  • Knowledge of the SA Government’s renewable power procurement process;

Intention to Provide Services: 

Loeriesfontein Wind Farm invites all suitably qualified suppliers to submit an indication of their interest to provide the works as stated on the cover sheet. A list of commercial requirements and the pre-qualification criteria for further participation in supplier registration related to the aforementioned works is attached hereto. 

The works requirement for the contractor shall be the transport of staff to Loeriesfontein and Khobab Wind Farms from Loeriesfontein via the Granaatboskolk Road, Northern Cape. The estimated travel will be 200km/day 5 days a week, the starting date is 4 March 2024, and the contract period will be for 12 months. The transport will include all travel on site as required by the carcass search program at no additional cost. The required vehicle will be a minibus with seating for at least 9 people excluding the driver. The quotation shall include all cost for transporting the staff, Fuel, Tyres and the vehicle and driver will have the relevant statutory authorizations and certificates.

Indien u belangstel om die volgende goedere te verskaf aan die netbal-en-sokker spanne, is hierdie nou die geleentheid! ‘N voorbeeld in die vorm van ʼn ontwerp, moet ingedien word saam met die kwotasie. Die netbal klub bestaan uit 10 dames. Ons het tans 5 mans sokker spanne. Elke sokker span bestaan uit 15 spelers. 

Die volgende bydrae word van u versoek: 

1. Gemaklike sweetpakke vir oefensessies en speldae. 10 (Tien) Sweetpakke vir die netbal meisies. 

2. Netbalrompe wat ons netbalsterre met trots kan dra. 10 (Tien) Netbal rompe vir die netbal spelers. 

3. Netbal tekkies (Hi-tec) om te verseker dat ons spelers hul beste kan lewer. 10 x Tekkies vir die netbal meisies. 

4. Sokkerbroeke en truie wat die toewyding en passie van ons sokkerspan weerspieël. 75 sokkerbroeke en 75 sokker-truie.

RFQ – BEMARKINGSBORDE

Die Projek Maatskappy is opsoek na ‘n plaaslike geregistreerde besigheid om bemarkingsborde te vervaardig, instaleer asook oprig by al die huidige projekte en toekomstige projekte. Die metings/grootte van die borde moet 1.2 X 1.8m wees. Dien asseblief ‘n ‘sample’ asook ‘n kwotasie in.

Die volgende inligting moet op die borde verskyn:

  • “Geborg deur” moet op die borde sigbaar wees.
  • Die logo’s van Loeriesfontein & Khobab Windplase.
  • Die logo can die Projek/Program waar die bemarkingsborde gaan wees.

 

LET WEL: Die Loersfontein 2 en Khobab Windplase behou die reg voor om nie hierdie projek toe te ken op grond van begroting of enige ander onvoorsiene beperkings.

RFP – VEILIGHEIDSTEKENS

Die windplase is besig om die veiligheid van Loeriesfontein Hub op te knap. Die Projek Maatskappy nooi plaaslike belangstellende geregistreerde besighede uit om die volgende dienste te lewer. Die besigheid moet ook hierdie veiligheidsteken by die Hub installeer.

  • “Ashtray” waar die rook area gevestig is.
  • Twee veiligheidstekens vir die “Designated Smoking Area”.
  • ‘n Veiligheidsteken wat aandui dat die ingang na Loeries Hub se voorste deur uit glas bestaan.
  • Die kabels van die “router” & “printer” benodig cable ties.
  • Een “Non-smoking” veiligheidsteken in die toilet area.
  • Een “No alcohol” veiligheidsteken in die kombuis.
  • Twee sanitere dromme wat in die vroue badkamer geplaas moet word.
  • ‘n Teken wat aandui dat die deure van die badkamer altyd toe moet wees.
  • ‘n Bordjie wat aandui dat die vloere gewas word of nat is.
  • By die deurry van die ingang na die parkeer area moet daar ‘n aanduiding wees vir die ingang en uitgang.
  • ‘n Teken wat ‘n aanduiding gee dat vorentoe ‘n stoep is.
  • ‘n Teken wat aandui dat die kombuis altyd skoon moet wees.

The project company hereby invites contractors to register to tender for the bid to construct an office extention in Loeriesfontein Wind Farm:

Scope of Works:

The construction of office extention, entailing the following:

CIVIL WORK

  • Site clearing and Earthworks, e.g. excavations and breaking of concrete.
  • Concrete, formworks and reinforcement.
  • Masonary e.g brickworks, foundation, super structure, plastering etc.
  • Plumbing
  • Capentary and Joinery e.g Roof construction, rainwater goods, door frames etc.
  • Ceiling, partitions, etc.
  • Painting

ELECTRICAL WORK

  • Power distribution e.g. LV cable and DB installations, earthing, labelling, etc.
  • Electrical Building e.g installation of lights, switches, sockets, etc.
  • Permanent Equipment e.g repositioning of existing electrical building services, install air conditioner, testing and commissioning, etc.
  • Data infrastructure e.g data switches, Outlets, cables, etc.
  • Issue a valid Certificate of Compliance for the entire electrical building services.

Contractors must comply with the following requirements:

  1. a) Proof of Company Registration
  2. b) BBBEE Level 1 to 4.
  3. c) Valid Tax Clearence Certificate
  4. d) 5-10 years’ experience in construction
  5. e) Experience in construction of commercial buildings
  6. f) CV of the company owner and site manager
  7. g) NHBRC registered
  8. h) SME’s and newly formed companies should not be discouraged to request information

Compulsory Clarification Meeting will be held on Thursday, 05 August 2022 at the Loeriesfontein 02 Wind Farm, Loeriesfontein Wind Farm Coordinates -30.294388,19.33308 and will start at 11h00.
